EXHIBITIONS
An overview of exhibitions presenting works rooted in material, memory, and place.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a self-taught sculptor whose work explores the tension between remembrance and erasure. Using reclaimed wood, metal, clay, paper, and found materials, I create layered, mixed-media sculptures that give form to overlooked narratives and shared cultural memory. My practice is grounded in social consciousness and a belief in sculpture as a site for truth-telling, connection, and healing. I am drawn to materials that have lived before objects with texture, weight, and history. Their visible wear reflects the people and stories I aim to honor. Each sculpture I create is both a physical form and a spiritual gesture: a structure that bears witness. Paper has become increasingly central to my process. I work in layered, often fragile compositions that speak to the complexity of lived experience. These layers sometimes fragmented, sometimes whole carry the emotional weight of the stories I tell. My recent public works, including A Seat for the Soul and God Bless Their Soles – Angels Are Everywhere, center those whose lives are rarely commemorated—caregivers, spiritual figures, community elders, and unnamed angels. Whether installed in parks, civic spaces, or galleries, my work invites stillness, reflection, and engagement. At its core, my practice is an offering one that holds space for dignity, grief, and the quiet strength of those history leaves behind.
